Photo Shoot Plan
Location.
Carl Wark is a rocky promontory on Hathersage Moor in the Peak District National Park, just inside the boundary of Sheffield, England. The promontory is faced by vertical cliffs on all but one side, which is protected by a prehistoric embankment.
Higger Tor is a dominant landmark of the Dark Peak, in the north of the Peak District National Park. It is a gritstone tor overlooking the Burbage Valley and the iron age hill fort of Carl Wark to the southeast.
This picturesque derbyshire location is the place I have chosen to use for my music video as I think it will work really well, although the first location I had chosen being 'Brimham Rocks' near York was going to become a problem as to travel my casting over to this location caused issues. The combination of Carl Wark, Burbridge Brook and Higgor Tor is the perfect location for my moorland, indie, festival, fun love theme.
Planning out timing for my location pre production planning became harder as we were hit with lots of snow over my chosen weekends in January and therefore the planning was postponed, leaving me with little time for completion.
Time and Equipment.
I will need a tripod to make my shots look professional and defined but also a camera so I can film it. I'm going to use the Toshiba Camileo X400 HD Camcorder, 23x optical zoom and stunning 1080p Full HD video recording. I will also use Final Cut to edit as its very easy software to use.
I will make sure that once I have found my location that I do my research of the days that are best fit weather for filming. I will make an early appearance on set of my location, so that I can get a full day of filming but to also make sure that if necessary I can put in place the extra time to another day of filming. To ensure I have enough time to edit my music video and make sure all is alright.
Copyright.
Copyright is a very huge part of the media industry and its essential to make sure that you have it against your own work or when you are wanting to use somebody else’s work that you get permission from the management or the band itself otherwise copyright infringements will be used against you and could possibly be taken to court. The song I have chosen to use it called 'Mountain Sound' by Of Monsters and Men. Here is an image of the email I sent to the manager of the band, It entitles me, certainly if I receive a reply to use the song of my choice, although if they don’t it ensures documentation of the way in which I tried to contact them for copyright allowance.
My Audience.
During my audience research I had to bare in mind who I was intending to target. Therefore it was essential to decide to the very last detail who I was wanting my music video to be viewed by. My target audience would stereotypically fall under these specifics. 'Typically' I am aiming for the age group of 17-20, both boys and girls of quite an eclectic taste, in life, clothing, opinions and music. Originality would be a key word used to describe the main idea of my target audience as well as, outgoing, fun, loving and middle class. The reason I specify middle class is because I want to make sure that my target audience are the kinds of teenagers who shop in places such as river island, republic, newlook, zara, topshop, topman, urban outfitters, lyle and scott and ralph lauren. All shops of which have both there pricey side and affordable side ensuring my target audience still have a spare bit of money in their back pocket for subsidiary products of my band and their albums. A typical week in the life of my target audience I see to go something along the lines of working with approximately 3 A-levels and a part time job maybe 3/4 shifts a week, a wide social group and hectic weekends with loved ones.
